Reader’s Club is an assemblage of students and teachers with aims to develop reading habit and information literacy skills among students and teachers, which is the primary objective of a school library. It is a device through with a child is exposed to all sorts of cultural and creative activities related to book reading.
Reading club is a platform for students to narrate, discuss and reflect on what is read. This forum intends to promote reading among the students and gives the opportunity to present book reviews regularly. Creativity, analytical and critical skills of the students are enhanced through these meetings.
The main objectives of the Readers' Club are to: create interest among students regarding the importance of reading. show way to them about appropriate methods of reading. spread reading culture among them.
Objectives:-
1). It exercises the Mind, improves Concentration, Focus, and to makes more confident.
2). Improves Creativity, Vocabulary and Reasoning skills
3). Gives you the glimpse in to the Cultures and Places
4). It Builds self-esteem – Make the child well informed which translates into higher self esteem.
5). Improves Discipline – Adding book reading to student’s daily schedule and sticking to it.
6). It’s one of the greatest Stress-buster.
7). Reading books in Natural light, away from your monitor, betters eye-sight and make you align with Nature.
8). When we feel tired and dull, the books of great writers give us peace of mind and make us optimists.
9). Inspires us to work hard and achieve success in our life.
Objectives
Reader's Club promotes a love of literature in a positive, nurturing environment.
a). It encourages critical thinking and deeper encouragements with stories.
b). It provides accountability for students in reading and reading comprehension.
c). It improves reading fluency and develops better writing skills.
d.) It improves oral verbiage skills and improves the research skills.
e). It broadens and deepens their vocabulary bank.
The Reader's Club invites eminent speakers, scholars and writers to deliver speech, which stimulates own thinking power. The members in the club take the book from the Reader's Club library and develop their habit of reading.
